HighPoint is a premium interspecific hybrid developed by Oklahoma State University and selected through more than a decade of research and field evaluation. It was selected through the Turf Research Bermuda California project, a collaboration involving OSU, A-G Sod Farms and Sod Solutions. More than 100 experimental and commercially available bermudagrasses entered the evaluation process. After years of testing under demanding California growing conditions, HighPoint emerged as the top-performing selection for California, the United States transition zone and south, and around the globe where bermudagrasses grow.
HighPoint combines elite cold tolerance, superior drought performance, rapid traffic recovery and exceptional sod tensile strength with a fine texture, dense canopy and rich green genetic color. Its low seedhead production and ability to perform under lower mowing heights give HighPoint strong potential for residential and commercial landscapes, golf courses, sports fields and other professionally managed turfgrass applications.
