When soil becomes too alkaline, grass can struggle to absorb nutrients even when you fertilize correctly. High soil pH for grass can leave nutrients locked in the soil, resulting in weak growth, poor color or slow improvement. This product is a sulfur soil amendment made from elemental sulfur and designed to correct alkaline soil conditions in lawns. Once applied, sulfur works gradually through natural soil processes to adjust soil pH over time.
This soil sulfur amendment lowers soil pH, helping bring overly alkaline soil back toward a range where grass roots can access nutrients. By improving nutrient availability, it allows your existing fertilizer program to work more efficiently instead of remaining unused in the soil. Your main fertility program should still focus on nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, such as the Lawnifi® lawn care program, with additional nutrients applied only when a deficiency is identified.
Apply 1–2 lbs. per 100 sq. ft. (equivalent to 10-20 lbs per 1,000 sq ft). Refer to the product label for full application instructions.
Apply sulfur when a soil test confirms alkaline soil. Because sulfur works slowly, results develop over several weeks. This gradual approach creates more stable, long-lasting improvement and avoids sudden pH shifts that can stress grass.
This granular sulfur can be applied using a standard lawn spreader or distributed by hand in smaller areas.
