Fire ants are difficult to control because colonies extend underground and can rebound quickly when treated with surface sprays alone. Killing visible ants doesn’t solve the real problem: the queen. Effective fire ant bait works by targeting the entire colony instead of chasing individual mounds.
Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait is a broadcast fire ant bait designed to eliminate fire ant colonies from the inside out. Extinguish Plus uses a dual-action formula that combines an adulticide with an insect growth regulator (IGR) for long-term control.
This fire ant colony killer works in two ways. Worker ants ingest the bait and are eliminated, reducing activity. At the same time, the insect growth regulator is carried back to the colony and fed to the queen, preventing her from producing new ants. This stops the colony from rebuilding and leads to gradual collapse.

Apply when fire ants are actively foraging. Activity may continue briefly after application, but colonies typically begin to decline within about a week as the queen is affected.
