12 Aug Farewell from Sod Solution’s Justin Wallace: Heading to Guatemala for Mission Work
To all of my friends and acquaintances that I have come to know over the past 9 years while at Sod Solutions, this is a bitter-sweet goodbye. My wife Sara, my six year old son Brooks, my four year old daughter Carly along with myself are about to begin a new chapter in our lives. We are going to move to Guatemala to help a mission organization called Nexus Missions expand its after school program for children. Our long term goal would be to change a generation of children and turn them into leaders. We have visited twice in the past year and after seeing the needs down there, we both have been even more driven to go. Here is a video I made after visiting detailing our plans and our website to follow our adventure. www.atitlanrising.com
Nathan and Laura Smith established the Nexus Institute, an after school program for 10 year old children as a continuing education initiative. They meet every day to teach Bible, English and computer classes. During the next school year, we hope to add two more new classes for additional children.
I just want to thank every one of you that has made an impact on me the past nine years. Through many tradeshows, meetings and phone calls, I have come to know many of you. People in the turf industry are some of the best people in the business and I truly am blessed to have been a part of it myself. Feel free to drop us a line and follow along with us.
Until we next meet…
